Hi! My name is Michelle Wolford. I’m a 4th year medical student at National College of Natural Medicine in Portland Oregon. By September 2010, I plan to return to San Diego to open my medical practice- Kymana Wellness.
Kymana is a very powerful word. When the Polynesians see the sun shine on the ocean creating that mesmerising sparkle that makes you pause, they call that kymana. It is a symbol of strength, beauty, courage, peace and faith. I want to help you find, restore and maintain your Kymana.

A Little Diddy about Me
I was born and raised in Houston, TX. I spent the majority of my childhood playing competitive sports- volleyball, basketball, soccer, tennis and softball. My summers were spent at camp in Culver, Indiana at Culver Academies, which is also where I graduated from High School. I then finished my college education with a Bachelor in Sociology from the University of Colorado, Boulder and soon thereafter moved to Australia to work as a chef on the Gold Coast.
January 2005, I moved to Encinitas, California to pursue a Masters in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology at SDSU. It was in San Diego that I began seeing a naturopathic physician and soon thereafter relocated to Portland, OR to spend the next four years earning my Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine.
As an avid USC football fan, I learned to battle my OU competitors and the rainy days, but have come to love Portland for all it has to offer. It is an amazing place, but look forward to returning to sunny North County, San Diego, California!
I still harbor my passion for cooking, nutrition and exercise, which I hope to incorporate into community education and treatment plans. With my free time I’m usually doing something active whether it’s putting my belly to the board (surfing for those who haven’t yet experienced the amazing connection you can have with the ocean), playing tennis, volleyball, fly fishing or just a nice evening stroll. I enjoy studying foreign languages, playing with arts and crafts, traveling, studying medicine and dancing.
